Customized transport with flat racks

Not every load fits into standard container sizes and flat racks are often used for oversized loads. Flat racks were used to transport an old slaughterhouse from Amsterdam to Vietnam.

Terminal employees at Inland Terminal Veghel prepared the unusual cargo for transport and loaded it on to the barge ‘Iris’. A total of 50 containers (mostly 40-foot high cubes) were needed to move the slaughterhouse. All containers were transported by vessel to the Port of Rotterdam, from where they made the lengthy crossing to a new life in Vietnam.
